Publisher's Guide to Helium Marketplace

The Helium Marketplace is the publisher’s easy source for custom content for your print publication and/or online presence.

A QUICK OVERVIEW

The Helium Marketplace eliminates the overhead of managing freelancers and contract writers. Simply put, our publishers post titles here for articles they want, then our writers submit top notch articles that correspond with these titles. Plus the Helium Marketplace reduces the number of submissions you need to review before finding content you like- no headaches, no stress. Here’s how the Marketplace works:

  • You request titles for which you want custom content. You indicate the payment you want selected writers to receive and provide a brief description for each title.
  • Our writer base (currently 100,000 and growing) self-selects and competes to write the best article. The Helium ranking engine separates the wheat from the chaff.
  • You return at the end of your promotion and review the top-rated articles. You pay only for the articles you select. No sign-up fee. No deposit. No obligation. You get full SEO value, guaranteed exclusive license, and you can select from other available options.

Setting Prices
Your Helium Marketplace sales representative can help you understand the various parameters and guidelines for determining the most cost-effective price for you to get the custom content you need. We will be happy to work with you on configuring your titles, descriptions and price points for maximum effectiveness.

Here’s the breakdown:

VIEWING TITLES

You can see your titles on your Marketplace Publisher page. You’ll be taken to this page when you first log in to Helium. If you are logged in but not at your Marketplace Publisher home page, click your user ID name at the top of any page you are viewing.

Your Marketplace Publisher page displays your current titles. Sort your titles by clicking on the headings of the title list. Click once to sort in ascending order, click a second time to sort in descending order. You can sort by:

  1. Channel
  2. Days left
  3. # of articles
  4. Writer payment
  5. Title Class

Scroll through the titles by clicking on the page number at the bottom of the title list.

  • Click the “Marketplace titles” link in the Publishers purple navigation bar at the top left of the page.

MAKING ARTICLE SELECTIONS

  • Go to your Marketplace Publisher home page.
  • Click the “Marketplace titles” link in the Publishers purple navigation bar at the top left of the page.
  • Change the filter to “Ready for purchase.”
  • Sort the titles as you wish.
  • Click a title to see the article submissions and to review them.
  • To select an article, click the “Add to cart” link at the top of the article summary or at the top of the article. This will add the article to your shopping cart.

    A. Your shopping cart is persistent through visits to Helium. You can log off and even close your browser without losing your selections.

    B. To find your shopping cart, go to your Marketplace Publisher home page, click the Marketplace titles link and then click “View shopping cart” in the upper right.

PURCHASING ARTICLES

  • View your shopping cart by navigating to your Marketplace Publisher home page.
  • Click the “Marketplace titles” link. Next, click “View shopping cart.”
  • Review your selected articles and the subtotal. (The subtotal reflects the base price indicated for the title plus any appropriate licensing fees.)
  • When satisfied with your selection, click “Proceed to checkout.”
  • Your billing information is pre-populated. If necessary, you may change this information so that the billing information in these fields matches the billing information on the credit card you wish to use.
NOTE: Changing the billing information here will not change the billing information on file for your account. If you would like to change that information permanently, please contact your Marketplace sales representative.
  • Enter the credit card information in section 2 “Payment method.”
  • In Section 3 “Close or extend titles,” you can choose to close the title, which will release the title and its remaining articles to Helium. Or you can choose to extend the title so that writers have more time to write new submissions. The default behavior is to close the title and release it to Helium.
  • In Section 4, click “Purchase now” to finalize your purchase. Next, you’ll land on the receipt page for your purchase.

OBTAINING YOUR LICENSED CONTENT

  • After purchasing your content, you will land on the Receipt page for your purchase. (Your purchase history is maintained for you by Helium. To get to your purchase history, click the “Purchase history” link from your Marketplace Publisher home page.)
  • Select the Order ID for which you would like to see the titles and articles.
  • Click the “read more . . .” or “Click here to view article” links to see the complete article.
  • Click the “Copy to clipboard” button to copy the article contents to your Windows clipboard

    A. You may then paste the content into your favorite word processor.

    B. Please note that this pastes only the content and not the title, writer’s name or link to the writer’s “About Me” page. You may need to copy this information separately to comply with your Helium Marketplace Agreement.
